Problem space & Business Opportunity
Opportunity
To create a fluent and intuitive mobile-first solution where:
- Users can search, filter and compare local professionals
- View transparent pricing and real customer reviews
- Book instantly via a simple interface
- Build trust through visual design and UX
Challenge
Booking a handyman today usually means:
- Searching web (Google)
- Clicking through random websites
- Potentially calling multiple companies/contractors
- Waiting for a call back
Easily time consuming process, inconsistent and untrustworthy. Often no clear price, social proof or availability info upfront
Goal
- Simple: Minimum clicks to complete a booking
- Trustworthy: Clear ratings, images and company info.
- Fast: Streamlined UI elements and real-time availability.

Research & Insight
Reviewing 20+ Trustpilot reviews of different handyman apps/services in Denmark, yielded the following key takeaways:
- People feel uneasy about unclear prices
- Response times are inconsistent
- Trust and transparency were the most mentioned themes.
Furthermore, I spoke with 3 people who recently had personal experience with booking a tradesperson. The following qoutes were especially interesting:
“I don’t want to feel stupid asking what it will cost for every single thing”
“Seeing real photos from past work makes a huge difference, if he did not have instagram, I would never have known.”
“If i can’t book or get in touch instantly, I loose the will to continue”
In summary, speed & trust = conversion. The uncertainty and potential slow pace generates doubt. A good UX should anticipate those moments and removes them.
