Presenting Data for online community

This project was an independently developed application designed to meet the needs of an online gaming community for the game Black Desert Online (BDO). The tool allows users to extract grind data from an external site and presents it in a user-friendly interface for deeper analysis. Players could sort through various zones, compare their performance with average statistics, and even filter results by character class. The application aimed to provide users with insights into their gameplay efficiency and to track overall rankings in different zones.

Developed within a one-week challenge, the tool quickly gained interest within a small part of the community for its utility and ease of use.

My Role & Skills Used

I developed the tool using a combination of C# and Python to handle both data extraction and processing. Javascript was used for a Browser extension in order to extract the data from an third party website. As a UI/UX designer, I also created the tool’s interface from scratch, beginning with wire-frames and iterating through to high-fidelity prototypes. I used Figma to design the interface and develop a clean, easy-to-navigate experience, ensuring users could easily sort, filter, and understand complex data.

Finally, the design was refined based on feedback, and I implemented the final polished version with attention to color palettes, typography, and usability, creating a tool that merged functionality with simplicity, and yet adhered to the original theme.

Below is a slide showcase of parts of the process from wire-frame to polish.
